The DS-2CD2432F-IW K1716 camera comes from a new series of Hikvision products - HiWatch. This series of low-budget devices, IP cameras and IP NVRS, is dedicated for anyone who wants to build low-cost high-resolution IP CCTV system. The DS-2CD2432F-IW ceiling camera has been equipped with high quality 3 MP CMOS sensor providing perfect video even in low-light conditions. The camera has intelligent analysis functions such as line crossing and intruder detection in a specific area. The user can setup a region of interest (ROI) - part of the image with increased video transmission parameters.

Thanks to H.264 compression, the data stream is minimized. The user can configure two independent streams (primary and secondary), as well as choose H.264 or MJPEG compression and limit the bandwidth within 32 kb/s to 16 Mb/s range.

The built-in microphone and speaker of the camera can be used for videoconferencing. The minimum requirements for the other side include a suitable PC with microphone and speaker/headphones, capable of receiving the video and voice via a browser or dedicated application.

The camera can be connected wirelessly (Wi-Fi, IEEE802.11 b/g/n) or via Ethernet port. The use of wireless connection is not recommended for applications in professional CCTV systems with video recording, due to a risk of interference and the influence of obstacles. The wireless connection is convenient in the case of live monitoring and videoconferencing.

The built-in PIR motion sensor provides more reliability than video motion detection, especially in the case of an environment with reflections, objects moving in the wind, moving pets etc. The detection of motion by the PIR sensor can trigger e.g. recording of the video from the camera on a memory card (the camera supports microSD cards up to 128 GB) or by an NVR, or can activate the alarm output.

The camera has been designed for indoor applications, also in dark rooms (the built-in IR illuminator has range up to 10 m). It can be powered conventionally with 12 VDC or using PoE option (compatibility with 802.3af).

Ezviz (EasyVision) is a free service which can be activated in Hikvision NVRs and IP cameras. This free service allows less advanced users to easily access to the video from the cameras via the Internet, without forwarding router ports. To enable remote access, the user should only connect the device to the network (which requires a valid IP address and appropriate gateway settings). The next step is the creation of user account at the www.ezviz7.com website. The account can accommodate devices in a local area network (with activated Ezviz service). The devices will be available from anywhere via the Internet.
